Even more than candy and trick-or-treating, dressing up is an integral part of Halloween. Choosing the right costume can be a difficult proposition, never mind finding the right couple costume. Selecting a group costume can be even more troublesome.
Before you get down to the business of selecting your group or couple costumes, you have to find a costume source. The first place you can look is your local department or discount store. While their selection is sometimes limited, you may still be able to find the right costumes. Your best chance is to go early though. The closer it gets to Halloween, the more picked over the selection. If you have access to a Halloween specialty shop, or a costume shop, you may find a wider selection available.
Couple Costume Ideas
The easiest place to start with a couple costume is to consider famous duos. Here are just a few examples of male/female duos to get you started:
* Adam and Eve
* Bonnie and Clyde
* Jack and Jill
* Cinderella and Prince Charming
* Pharaoh and Cleopatra
Often fairy tales and movies can be excellent idea starters. One online costume provider offers a Ball and Chain costume.
For non gender-specific costume pairings, consider ideas such as:
* Salt and Pepper
* Lock and Key
* Nut and Bolt
Group Costume Ideas
The larger your group, the more difficult it becomes to make a group costume decision. It also becomes more of a challenge to find enough costumes variations within a theme to accommodate the group. Online costume providers can be an invaluable resource when it comes to these types of volume purchases.
The easiest way to costume your group is to select a theme, with each member of the group having a slightly varied costume, perhaps based on gender or age.
For a larger group, around ten to twenty, a theme such as sea animals might work. Each group member selects a different sea creature, such as shark, fish, eel, lobster, etc. Another idea would be for each member to dress as a character from the Star Wars series of movies.
If you have a smaller group of people, one of the following group ideas may work for you:
* Superheroes (Superman, Batman, Catwoman, Wonder Woman, Spiderman, Batgirl, etc.)
* Pirates
* The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, Munchkins, Glenda, etc.)
One online provider even offers group costumes based on cocktails and fast food.
No matter the size of your group, from two through twenty, with a little planning, you can find a Halloween costume theme that works for everyone in the group
